Rob Lake

Rob Lake

Rob Lake, works for a small Engineering Consultancy based in the Bendigo CBD, and he is also a guitarist and singer, and has been playing in various Church music teams for the last 50 years. Now while that makes him older than some, he loves music of all varieties. His favourite band from when he lived in NZ for 20 years, is Rapture Ruckus – a rap band. Rob loves that Life FM plays all sorts of different styles of music from choirs to worship to rap to heavy metal, and everything in between. Rob is glad to be involved in such a powerful medium as radio, that encourages His followers and is a witness to others who may not yet know Him.

virginia council

Virginia McDonald

Virginia moved to Bendigo with husband Brendan recently to be involved in the new church Common Ground. Virginia felt a real call to this area. Through inward and physical healing through Christ has got a foundation. Virginia has 3 kids and is really keen to support families. She also works as an orthoptist part time with vision Australia as she has a heart for people with special needs. Virginia wants to be a voice that speaks for those who are not able and she has enjoyed the way Life FM has gathered people together from different churches.

committee

Jono Phillips

Hi my name is Jonathan Phillips. I’m 41 years old and live in Maiden Gully. I have had a long interest in Central Victorian Gospel Radio as far back as the caravans on the mountain having answered phones and co-presented with Ian Nicholas a couple of times and of course listened over the life of the station.

My brief bio: I was raised in a Christian family and came to accept Jesus as my own Saviour at the ripe old age of 4. I was baptised at about 12 yrs of age and have attended Baptist Churches most of my life. As a family we have attended Kangaroo Flat Baptist Church for the past 9 years and was on staff there as Associate Pastor for the past 2 years. I have recently finished my role there and we are currently on a pilgrimage around several different churches in Bendigo just to see what God is doing.

Having moved around the country a bit with my work as a Paramedic I have enjoyed Christian Radio Stations in various locations and saw a real need for a positive and relevant Christian Station in Bendigo. I was delighted when LifeFM came on the radio full time. My family has the radio locked on 105.1 in the car and love the music and presenters – some whom they personally know.

I would love to be involved in a deeper way and now having a bit more time having finished up at KFBC can see that this would be something positive to engage in moving forward. Radio is such a great medium both locally and globally reaching such a broad cross-section of people. I see really bright things in the future for LifeFM and would love to be part of it.

keith

Keith Bailey

I have lived all my life in Bendigo, have been a member of the Baptist Church for many years. My connection with CVGR goes back to its very beginnings in the 1980s when we broadcast from Mt. Alexander. Over the years I have served on the Management Committee, helped with working bees and done programming. And more recently have been doing a program each Sunday afternoon.

I believe that radio has the unique opportunity to reach into every home in this city. I am prepared to serve on the committee in support of our President and General Manager.

We are entering a new phase of our ministry with new premises of our very own. I feel my greatest contribution will be to help with the establishment of the new building and its ongoing maintenance.

My prayer and desire is to see people’s lives being changed and renewed through the impact of the Gospel, which we continue to bring to the citizens of the City, through Life FM.
